Hmmmm... Ok... Have you heard of pinoyforum.net? I think it's dedicated to game development. But I don't often visit there, my usual place is here... :)

Dwarvend:
wow this is kewl, any clue how can i start in this field?

Dudes, If you are a programmer who had programmed with other languages before,
such as C++,VB,C#. You should haven't a problem with DirectX/OPENGL/MDX/XNA
by reading tutorials from their respective site find one for beginners.

If your new to programming you should start searching by Google for a
good tutorial in your preffered language, or start modding some games.

I learn C++ by programming with DirectX then I swicht to C# just to learn XNA.

Actually theres a lot to learn in game development it is very broad IMOO,
graphics programming, AI, level design Etc.. ETc..

Start from simple like a 2D project, then proceed to advance when you
feel you already capable of dealing with matrix, quarterion, vectors and
graphics render state settings.

BTW: That the reason behind MS releasing XNA to ease the pain of gamedev.

Cheers. Big Smile

Bwahahaha! Ok lang naman diba pareng roogz?

almost 1.5 months na wala progress sa engine. yun latest post ko eh nilinis ko lang yun code actually last month pa tapos yun. medyo busy talaga ako. mapapansin nyo sa unang screenshot eh meron stencil shadows gaya ng makikita nyo sya sa game like DOOM3 but currently planning to replace it with shadow mapping instead ksi mas mabilis at mas madali implement soft shadow. yun nga wala pa ko time. ngayon bakasyon hopefully ma motivate ulit ako para ituloy.

btw, Merry Christmas to all!

Nagdownload na kasi ebooks of different kinds but still they luck the things that I should learn, lie game canvasing, spriting, etc. Newbie pa po ako in game development but I'm looking forward of creating this rpg type mobile game for my thesis. Your help would be of great help for beginners like. I hope my portion po d2 for j2se/j2me game development, so it will not be to hard for us to look.Smile

My game? Hmmm... Konti palang progress eh... Ito screenshots... I really need an artist!

January - Finish animation, add sound and music, create levels
February - collision detection, Hi-Score System, AI
March - Main screen(and other game states, this should be stack based), cinematics, More weapons and powerups

This game still runs slow on PIII Machines!

Hey, cool dude! Big Smile lots of progress from that screenshot since the last post,
Nyak! I think both of us has the same needs, kelangan mo tsong ng

There's a lot of free  and open  source  data  encryption avaiable
out there, try ARJ or ZIP LIB for example, if you can manage to incorporate that
to your loading rountine  and put some  protective magic key that would
be a great protection tools.

The  best  protection I can think of from my expose asset resources
file, would be to put a readme or license file along with it, I dont
mind people using my tools or  files as long as they follow the
license of usage or agreement attached to it.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm gonna have to make more enemies and make them smarter next time. I'm also researching on how I can add a richer background. I just came across another Filipino game development hobbyist while posting in gamedev.net. Take a look at his game

I hope to see a demo of your game soon! Thanks!
