yeah, i've just listened to powershell podcasts from hanselminutes and i couldn't relate since i was not a *nix guy but was thinking to give it a shot anyway. haven't installed it yet.
btw: first i seen articles that future java will be supporting ruby in its framework, then john lam got absorbed, hehehe.
btw: bad link
Yah bad link.. I was thinking of visiting :)
try this:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/webcasts/ps.mspx
hmm, i've been using tortoisesvn commands from file menu of explorer for months, time to check out how to use powershell again
wow, sobrang secure talaga out of the box ng IIS 7, it won't even serve static content :P
seriously what Microsoft's doing with IIS 7 is good. the Apache folks should take notice of that. otherwise their market leadership will soon be obliterated.
great sample Joben!
they were obviously hitting on her hahahah...
Cool, congratz. :D
isa lang masasabi ko dyan...HANEP!
kudos to MS. galing!!! it's an exciting time to be a .NET developer.
SBC Packers, di ba sa kay Rex Navarrete yan? :D
Great sample velocity! Before PS i was doing all this in a batch file because it was not as enjoyable as typing it. with PS you tend to type more because you get to do alot more. I remember seeing Jon Galloway on our usergroup meeting with his Powershell and SMO demo and my jaw dropped instantly.
Hi Keith,
Moving forward, PS is going to be present as an admin tool in every server product that MS ships. Exchange has it now. The new System Center products also come with PS commands bundled with it. With SQL2005, loading SMO into PS is, as you've seen, possible. I guess Katmai will have PS commands when it comes out. Scripting support is part of the Common Engineering Criteria.
Yes cruizer, Rex is the "grand Packer of them all". :-)
correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't it that silver is the color of flash? :) so "silverlight" is a play on "flash" he he
yeah, i agree. Silverlight is worth much more than Flash. that's why Sun reacted immediately with its JavaFX, they're feeling the threat :P
yep, i read it on miguel de icaza's blog. hopefully the dlr-compatible mono will be out with mono 1.2.5. teka bakit ako lang in-address mo sa blog mo, ha ha! :P
What I like with regex is that you can use it's Regex.Replace just like the String.Replace. =)
wow,very enviable position heheh..
anyways one obvious question might be:
will we be able to run rails with it?
or
how will components be installed? ruby gems or ms way?
good luck
maybe i'll ask him if Microsoft is interested in coming up with a Smalltalk implementation for .NET too ;)
You mean something like this
vistasmalltalk.wordpress.com/.../vista-smalltalk
:-)
yeah that's nice...hope it gets completed :)
huh? javascript errors?
hahahahahahaha!!!!
