how i found this great looking, eclipse-based IDE still eludes me at this moment. it was one of those times when i was just surfing the web without any particular topic in mind - enjoying my new found freedom courtesy of a newly installed dsl connection - clicking here and there, then out comes "Aptana - The Web IDE".
being a true disciple of .NET and Winforms, i haven't really given Html, CSS, or Javascript much thought, although i have to admit being amazed that all those great looking widgets from Yahoo and Opera were built with these scripting/layouting dialects. so ok, what do i have to loose if i take it for a spin.
working with aptana is easy even for me who doesn't have any previous experience with the eclipse IDE. one thing i liked about aptana is you can select the browser in which to run your project. and since it has a built-in webserver, the whole experience of editing/running web pages is a breeze. this one is a keeper!
i downloaded this new blog writing tool from Microsoft's website. in fact i'm writing this piece using this amazing blog editor which Microsoft says should work with any blogging service. hey, it looks like it works as advertised, and its free as in beer - cheers!
