Announcement: DevPinoy Windows Vista Contest Part II Winner

It took me sometime to decide on who deserves to win our DevPinoy Windows Vista Contest because there were a lot of great articles that has been posted in the past few days and we've generated huge amount of traffic in that timespan. Thanks guys!

Now, lets see who won...

We had a Windows Vista that needs to be given to only one person and everybody deserved this prize. It's pretty tough to make a decision specially when you know that everybody exerted an extra effort to think about what the are going to write. So.. i enlisted a friend to give me some guidance how to pick the winner. After a long deliberation I was able to comeup with the winner

Congrats Joey Calisay! You are the winner Windows Vista Ultimate Edition CD.

and ofcourse we have to have a consolation prize.. because several exerted extra efforts in writing their article

Modchip gets a free VB.NET book because of his creativity(and hacks).

Introducing Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 for Developers

Get a focused, first look at the features and capabilities in Microsoft Visual Basic 2005, Visual Studio 2005, and the .NET Framework 2.0. If you currently work with Visual Basic 6, these authors fully understand the adoption and code migration issues you'll encounter. They'll step you through a quick primer on .NET Framework programming, offering guidance for a productive transition. If you already work with .NET, you'll jump directly into what's new, learning how to extend your existing skills. From the innovations in rapid application development, debugging, and deployment, to new data access, desktop, and Web programming capabilities, you get the insights and code walkthroughs you need to be productive right away.

and Lamia will get a Java book because of the insights he had about .NET and Java interoperability

Data Structures and Algorithms in Java, Second Edition

Data Structures and Algorithms in Java, Second Edition is designed to be easy to read and understand although the topic itself is complicated. Algorithms are the procedures that software programs use to manipulate data structures. Besides clear and simple example programs, the author includes a workshop as a small demonstration program executable on a Web browser. The programs demonstrate in graphical form what data structures look like and how they operate. In the second edition, the program is rewritten to improve operation and clarify the algorithms, the example programs are revised to work with the latest version of the Java JDK, and questions and exercises will be added at the end of each chapter making the book more useful to readers.

Jokiz, Modchip & Lamia. Please send me your shipping address so that i can start send this swags to you(or, i can meet you up in manila next week ;)).

Expect more to come guys! Thanks everyone and more power to the Filipino Developers Community!

visualsvn, mas ok ba sya over ankhsvn?

cruizer wrote re: Announcement: DevPinoy Windows Vista Contest Part II Winner

mas maganda raw. kasi ankhsvn unstable at unreliable (mas gusto ko pa rin talaga tortoisesvn nun sa cormant). kaso di ba may bayad visualsvn?

jokiz wrote re: Announcement: DevPinoy Windows Vista Contest Part II Winner

oo may bayad, may open source license pala kami, i just read, try ko nga, tapos review ko rin sya...
