I had a hardtime deciding who's going to win the prize since alot of the guys who entered the contest deserve to win.. but.. we can only have one winner. So I emailed the coolest DE from the place to be(thats SoCal to you buddy) to decide on whose going to get the prize. He had a hard time too but at the end of the day a verdict was made... with that I give you the winning entry for our Vista for the Linux Guy contest:

I  am a Linux enthusiast and open source "evangelist," having been aware of the Linux scene for nearly ten years. I've considered myself an open source "evangelist" for preaching the open source word to companies that I have worked for and with these past years, having been instrumental in introducing Linux use to INFOCOM Technologies (one of the biggest ISPs in the Philippines in the late 90s) among others. At present Ubuntu Linux is my Linux version of choice, with its polished look, integration and vibrant community.

I say that by winning this Vista Ultimate Edition I can either morph into a Microsoftie or I can become an even more zealous Linux fanboy. :P Seriously I could use the Vista copy to promote further the use of open source applications, utilities and development tools even on the Windows platform. I believe that weaning users away from dependence on Windows-only applications is key to open source gaining acceptance in the marketplace. And the first hit that users typically have of open source is to have them run open source cross-platform applications on Windows. When they realize how helpful these software can be, that's what gives them the confidence to try out Linux and other non-Windows operating systems.

Long live Linux! And Windows too :P
