ATTENTION: I've decided to put the upgrade on hold due to a compatibility issue of our server environment with the latest CS installer package. CS 2008 now requires SQL Server 2005 as the backend DB but our database server currenlty has SQL Server 2000 installed on it. I'll resume the upgrade once I figure out when Telligent is releasing a patch to the schema compatibility issue. For now, we will continue to use the old version of CS while waiting for the said patch. If you have any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to post them on our forums and I'll answer them as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience and support guys! I'll let you know as soon as this is resolved. - Keith Rull

DevCast : ADO.NET Part 1

This is the first part our series about ADO.NET which is part of our Back To The Basic Series which is a series designed to teach beginners about the benefits of ADO.NET and to show how easy it is to use the ADO.NET in a short 10 to 15 minute video using Tagalog as the medium.  Our idea is to start from small demo application and build from there by adding new functionalities and refactoring the sample application on each part of the series.

On this demo you'll learn the basics of creating a connection to SQL Server, using a Universal DataLink to automatically generate your connection string to a database server, populating a DataSet using a SqlDataAdapter and assigning a DataSet to our GridView control.

thanks everyone!

@erniepaj: you want to download the video? currently you cant but i can make a .wmv version of each video tutorial so that you guys can take it home and burn it to a cd.

@lamia: yes, our idea is to help beginners learn .NET specially students. I'll be also venturing into java once we have set the curicullum.

@cruizer: camstudio is like camtasia. works great! I did a demo using cam studio before that can be found here: http://devpinoy.org/blogs/keithrull/archive/2005/12/20/devTrain_3A00_-Multiple-Language-Support.aspx
