ATTENTION: I've decided to put the upgrade on hold due to a compatibility issue of our server environment with the latest CS installer package. CS 2008 now requires SQL Server 2005 as the backend DB but our database server currenlty has SQL Server 2000 installed on it. I'll resume the upgrade once I figure out when Telligent is releasing a patch to the schema compatibility issue. For now, we will continue to use the old version of CS while waiting for the said patch. If you have any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to post them on our forums and I'll answer them as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience and support guys! I'll let you know as soon as this is resolved. - Keith Rull

My first C/C++ Teachers

This is my tribute to the people whom I learned and helped me understand C/C++.. although i'm not that great with it unlike MisterClay(he was my college buddy) whom i consider to be a totem pole when it comes to C and C++!!!

This are authors who created great books that i have read back when i was in college... and still have their books as part of my library.

Bjarne Stroustrup:  description taken from Wikipedia "...invented C++, wrote its early definitions, and produced its first implementation... chose and formulated the design criteria for C++, designed all its major facilities, and was responsible for the processing of extension proposals in the C++ standards committee". i bought a used copy of his book from an old book store in Manila and i consider it to be one of my greatest investments ever. Also check his personnal site.. you'll find alot of good articles and tips on C/C++.

Al Kelly and Ira Pohl: they couple of books together and all of them are gems on any C/C++ developers chest. Their book C by Dissection was the first book that we used in school and i believe it is still the book being used by students from my alma mater.

Dennis Ritchie and Brian Kernighan: DMR was the father of C language. their book The C Programming Language which was the first book released about C was my definitive guide when i started doing C projects in my Intro To Programming language subject in my First Year College. Almost everybody in the class including me has this book.

Please feel free to add more of notable authors and people that you could say that has channeled or influenced you in a way or two when it comes to programming in C or C++. Thanks!

the c programming language - aka the white book - is a rarity in terms of its compactness and simplicity.

Matagal na itong post na to pero gusto ko lang sumali hehehe. I got a book "The C++ Programming Language" by Bjrane Stroustrup which I think I got for about 250 or 299 pesos... It was cheap, when I first read it I didn't appreciate everything written on it. But as I developed my skills using other book and after having been exposed to OOP I learned to love C++ more... I then realized that I had one rare book at the palm of my hands! There was a problem though... There were some missing pages... Some pages don't have text printed on them! Waaaaaaah!
