Say for example, you have isnull(nullif(CityName,&#39;&#39;), StreetName), CityName is stored as NVARCHAR(50) and StreetName is NVARCHAR(100), the result will always be a maximum of 50 charaters since this statemennt follows the length of the first parameter.
