jokiz:oo nga sayang eh.. pero I applied the day I left for the country 30-Oct, nagbakasakaling merong slot.. you want to learn real OOP? learn Smalltalk ;)

after doing Smalltalk, you'll be able to apply its concepts to any OOP language.

Agreed on "Nothing wrong with structured programming/OOP is overrated/OOP has its place, " It's just that the workplace I'm currently in does require you to think/breathe OOP.

I can assure you this boss of mine certainly knows what he's talking about.

Reviewing my post, certainly does sound that I belittle structure programming, I don't(T-SQL w/c I know by heart is procedural) I guess working for this company and getting a fresh start made me a wee bit excited. My apologies :)

And what's wrong with structured programming? Sometimes, I feel like OOP is overrated. OOP has its place and not every problem requires an OOP solution. Heck, some OOP-demanding boss can't even distinguish a class method from an object method.

you sure can, however if your going to check the difference to the seconds, you'd have to datediff it 3 times(hour,minutes,seconds)...

as I understand katmai will have seperate time datatype so it we won't need hack like this..

You can use DateDiff to extract time information.

e.g.

DateDiff(MS, table.start, table.end) gives you the difference between start+end in milliseconds. Use 'HOUR' to get hours instead, etc.

Usually the reason(that I know most) is for reporting, padded nos. look better in reports than those without. And also, data coming from legacy database most of it are padded(for the previous reason)
