Click to go away

A few not too distant internet years ago, I was among who had been extremely annoyed with this IE error in developing pages that had ActiveX content (like Flash movies).

Later browsers, (current IE7+) didn’t anymore encountered this error. But if you are among the few whose companies choose to stick with (Oh God..), IE6 here are some fixes I came upon.

1.     Download the compatibility patch for IE here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=B7D9801B-4FB5-492E-903E-3400ABF1D731&displaylang=en or

2.     If you are developing pages embedded with ActiveX content, Adobe Dreamweaver was kind enough in developing a javascript plug-in for making this error go away. Zip file attached.

I really don't get why people still use the old IEs when they have newer, better, safer and FREE alternatives in our modern times.

MS should do an update that automatically remove old junk and replace with new ones. :P

Really, a designer's nightmare. :P

A lot of reasons. Not everyone adapts comfortably well to new technology/updates. Another is that it's the company security policy of sticking to a version.
